1950s. L.A. Case Study Houses program has been the inspiration for Martin Lamothe's lattest collection.  Rational workwear and David Hockney's pop series are the bases for her Summer-Spring 2011 proposal. Thus, acid colors, simple lines, rythmic designs and etherial fabrics portray the architecture, landscape and mood of those intellectuals that chased the so-called American dream....

on the road...

...summer in the city...o como dirían los castizos: crónica estival del currante. 

Tras varios años, vuelvo mis míticos meses de agosto, en casa trabajando. Y que bien se está en la apacible y solitaria ciudad mientras otros llenan carreteras, playas, chiringuitos y terrazas a la caza y captura de un poco de tranquilidad...Si no fuera por la de quilómetros que me he tenido que chapar entre curro-curro-casa-curro-curro, casi sin poder ni respirar... En fin, viendo que no me podía librar, decidí poden en práctica una de mis (temerarias) pasiones (no le prueben en casa...). 

Lo admito, cuando de hacer fotos se trata, tengo unas...digamos...obsesiones. Las fotos de pies (por si acaso me limito a los mios para no herir la sensibilidad de nadie); las fotos "efecto espejo" y las fotos "on the road", al volante. Totalmente imprudente, inconsciente y digno de todas las penalizaciones posibles. Pero...no me digais que viendo esto, no podeis evitar hacer click....

Lilliputian Viktor&Rolf

No son Barbies, ni Dollfies, ni Mariquitas Pérez, ni Nancies...son versiones liliputienses de los modelos de los unos de los mejores diseñadores-artistas de la moda actual. La Antwerp's Studio Job Gallery muestra estos días una retrospectiva de los 17 años de trabajo de Viktor Horsting y Rolf Shoeren a través de imágenes a tamaño real y de estas maravillosas miniaturas.  La exposición recoge replicas de los diseños más conocidos sus 30 colecciones; y si ya en su presentaciones Viktor&Rolf impresionan, estas muñecas simplemente me han cautivado. 

American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity...

...at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

For those of you who will visit NYC in this summer or those who are already there, you can't skip this exhibition. 

The MET has set a marvellous exhibition on American women fashion from the end of the 19th century 'til the end last century. I was just delighted as has been everyone I know that has already visited. 

Please note the settings for each decade, together with the hairdressing. Not to mention the dresses, of course...

 I just fell in love with the first black dress on the left.

And those from the 20s-50s are just gorgeous...

By the way, the exhibition is split in wo parts, and the rest of it is at the Brooklyn Museum under the name: 

American High Style: Fashioning a National Collection

I know it's quite far from the centre but you can take Line (red) 2 or 3 until Brooklyn Museum-Botanic Garden and you get at the door. Also, there you will find and exhibition on Andy Warhol last decade and the permament collection. 

Hope you have the chance to enjoy it.

The streets of NYC...

..vibrant, exciting, colourful, stressing, awesome, beautiful, huge, surprising and after all THE CITY!!! There's not enough adjectives to describe the place I just felt in love with. Everything in New York can happen, anything is true, there's no fiction whatsoever, the lights inspire, the buildings enchanter, the people delight, the culture, the art, the music, everything, it's just everything in there and just a way to show it off...

Ya he vuelto. Después de tres días desaparecida sonando por el sónar, con el cuerpo dolorido de tanto bailar, sólo puedo dar las gracias por lo bien que un año más nos lo han hecho pasar. De regalo, unos esbozos rápidos, marca de la casa...

Un clásico:  Quedarme networkless, lo que me deja pcless y por lo tanto soy useless...para la empresa claro, por que mientras tanto (no se lo digan al jefe) pillo el primer papelucho que tengo a mano y me olvido del estrés a base a de unos garabatos.
